In The Yellow Wallpaper, Charlotte Perkins Gilman presents the narrator, being the main character, as an ill woman. However, she is not ill physically. She is ill in her mind. More than any chemical imbalance that may be present; the narrators environment is what causes her to go mad. The narrator is never directly introduced or ever called by a name. It is obvious that this narrator is a woman, married to a named John. His name is presented, and not hers, for a reason. It is to present the fact that within herself, within her marriage to John, and within society, she feels unimportant. Within her, she feels as though, she cannot be named like others can, as though she cannot be in the same human category. She is separated from society. Therefore, she feels as though she is alone in society. She gives into the fact that the male-dominated society wo uld rather her alone, than be with lots of women and cause chaos. If the person listens to the little devil, it will end up being the wrong decision. It the person listens to the little angel, it will be the right decision. The narrator listens to almost neither. Also at the same time the Government was trying to get the full support of the nobles, because t hey would need them to help make the country thrive eventually. Also since the Government could not have the backing of the peasants or all of the nobles, they need an estate that they could always rely on and have them vote the way they wanted. So in trying to make friends with the nobles, the rulers did not tax the nobles as heavily as the other estates because they were trying to gain their support. In the sense, the Revolution could not have been prevented because the French Government was trying very hard to please both sides, fixing the debt and pleasing the nobles. The government could not win this part of the problem because either way, one group had to give. Economically speaking, the French Revolution could have been most likely not have been stopped, unless decisions in the past could have been changed. The excess spending by Louis the XIV caused this once great nation to fall into a deep period of debt and economic problems. In the long term, the liberation of the econom y from royal controls, and the development of a uniform civil law code helped pave the way for the future. But the effects of war on the French economy offset the positive effects of these changes because the economy in general was probably set back a generation.

There is no one thing that gives a person their identity, there are however many different factors that contribute to oneÃ¢â¬â¢s identity. What is someoneÃ¢â¬â¢s identity? Is it the way they look, the way they dress, or it could be many things all put together, or is it none of the above? To me someoneÃ¢â¬â¢s identity is a part of their being. Two congressmen Doc Hastings and Tom McClintock also opposed the bill and registered their opposition to the passing of the amendment to NGHRA (Duncan, p4). The opponents of the bill took the stance that they do not regard Congress as authority to reorganize people of different ethnicities and races into different sovereign nations especially when the community has no history of separate self-governance. There is an important point raised by the opposing congressmen that the creation of such independent entity would not be in long-term favor of the country because it will set an example for the other ethnic groups and nations and will encourage them to demand similar treatment. They opposed the bill also because it establishes a government on a racial basis (Joshua, p1). The congressmen have expressed their reservations regarding the amendments of the bill as they have observed several flaws in the bill. They also claim that it is a racist bill that poses serious threats to Americans as well as Hawaiians because it takes away the property rights from the Hawaiians and their legal heirs and singles out them on the basis of their origin. It has been demonstrated that the Hawaiian government will have complete sovereignty including ordinary tort and contract lawsuit but this move is not in favor of the people of Hawaii. The bill divides the people of a nation on the basis of their race and accord and bestows different rights.
